I was completely blown away by the amazing Smallmouth Bass fishery on the Penobscot River. Richard, from Twin Maple Outdoors gave me one of the best fishing days this season. His jet boat enabled us to get to areas of the river that are virtually untouched. We must have landed close to a hundred fish during the day. Rich provided a river bank/shore side lunch that was great and kept us going for the rest of the trip. Richard knows his stuff when it comes to this river and other nearby fishing spots. He has top notch gear and boats. His demeanor is just what you need when it comes to an instructional outing. He is funny, intelligent, and most of all patient! I cannot wait to visit Twin Maple Outdoors again. I highly recommend it to the outdoors folks! You will not be disappointed whether you are going on a bass trip, trout, salmon or even a Moose watching excursion!
It has been over a year since we went on a Moose Safari with Twin Maple Outdoors, but the experience was so wonderful, that I feel compelled to write this review! Richard's knowledge of the area, and his skill as a guide is second to none. Highly recommend Twin Maple Outdoors for your next adventure in the great State of Maine!
Just returned from 5 nights in Maine where we stayed in Bradford. Ed and I wanted 2 things, tranquility and to FISH! Rich Yvon went above and beyond to make sure both of those requests were answered. We stayed in his sporting lodge which is on his magnificent property. The lodge is perfection, cozy and comfortable with all your modern amenities. We didn't want to leave. You will want for nothing while you're visiting because it's all there and Rich and his family will be sure of it. Our guided fishing trip on the Big Eddy was my guy's perfect day, it really was. Rich helped to teach me to fly fish which he receives an A+ for, and Ed caught fish and we enjoyed a shore lunch where Rich bbq'd for us, it was all perfect. On our trip we got to see fox, a bald eagle, moose and a ton of other birds.
I did a 2 day trip on the penobscot river. The last time I went with Rich we went into some of the tributaries to target the fish. Rich is a great guide and i will go again for a 3rd trip next year and hopefully make it an annual event. He cares for the clients and literally treats you like family. If you get an opportunity to camp shoreside it is highly recommended. Even if you dont like fishing the scenery and wildlife you see is well worth the trip..
We left our trip with a great love for Maine and new friends. We can't wait to visit again and will be sure to be staying with Twin Maples. Let me add, if you want to fish and if want to see moose, you won't find a more knowledgeable guide than Rich Yvon. His love and passion for what he does is evident.
